start up a regime and stick to it
it will take you at least a few months to lose nearly 40 pounds
google for "couch to 5k" – it is a running programme which is easy and a great way to lose weight
good luck
stop eating.
Drink water and walk, walk, walk.
you need to get a good exercise dvd to workout to..along with a 30 min walk..that alone will help..if you eat right, then you will be thin in no time.
Jog for like 20-half hour.. cardio is the best way to lose belly fat and all fat. Jump ropping also helps… anything cardio… so jog at least 3 times a week if not more. Also try and do your crunches and sit ups if you can.
eat better. stay away from bad proteins (red meat etc.)
if you insist on eating beef, eat lean beef. tuna is a great substitute for things like pork or beef, chicken is also swell.
drink water primarily, stop drinking pop and whatnot. eat in smaller portions of everything, dont eat after o….8 or 9pm as after that time you generally become less active and all the calories you eat just sit in your stomach and your body holds them.
running is good, really lifting weights and whatnot is better, and a combination of the 2 is easily the best route. aerobic exercise is burns while you are doing it, as soon as you stop its gone. lifting weights your body continues to burn calories as it has to rebuild the muscle.
stop snacking.
its not as simple as just jogging :p dropping nearly 25% of your weight and keeping it off will require an entire change of lifestyle
DO P90X it’s awesome. And drink red line. Go to beach body.com and look at the before and afters you can also look at slim in six it’s only 6 weeks and all you need is a band. The P90X is 3 months. Good luck.
jog, skip, and do sit up each activity for half an hour each, dont eat chocolate, crisps, cakes or anything else high in fat, sugar or salt, drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit.. if you follow these rules you will start seeing the pounds fall of straight away. Hope i helped
and good luck
80% is the diet… i can give you one if you write me your e-mail address, you will lose 20 KG in 1 month but you should stick to it badly…. its really hard.
Try swimming laps. It’s going to take a few months if you want to loose ~40 pounds no matter what you’re doing.
Jogging isn’t the only way to lose weight. You can also swim, or play sports like hockey or soccer. Sit ups and planks are good for your stomach muscles and will help build them up.
Also, don’t start with a big long jog, as this can become discouraging. Start with about a kilometer (1000 meters, or about two and half times around a standard track). It is usually easier if you run a bit, then walk for the equal distance, then run again, then walk and so on and so on and so on.
Going to a gym with treadmills and weights is also a good way to get in shape.
Remember though, muscle weighs three times the amount of fat! For example, NHL hockey players usually weigh up to 200-250 pounds, depending on height (though I am sure they are more than 5’4")
Good luck!!
Alright there is something you need to know. Most people seem to think that if you do stomach exercises you’ll lose more belly fat. This isn’t true. Sit-ups will tone your stomach but they won’t make you lose weight in just your stomach. Any sort of anaerobic exercise will make you loose fat throughout your whole body. So that’s why working out takes so long. Its burning fat from all over your body, NOT in just one area.
So running, jogging, swimming, dancing….are all better at flattening a stomach. However some sit ups and leg lifts are good idea to tighten your stomach muscles. Keep in mind your body adapts to everything eventually, so try changing it up. One week to running and another week dancing or something like that.
"Dieting" is another thing that needs to be done, unfortunately people tend to do fad diets rather than listen to science. Weight Watchers honestly is probably the only "diet" out there that works, however its still a company charging you for something you can do on your own.
Your body adjusts its metabolism every couple of days according to what you have eaten. So when someone is a eating a lot of food even if they are fat has a high metabolism. There body is used to burning tones of calories. If someone eats a lot and then the following 2 days they eat hardly at all and then eat a lot again on the 3rd day they will remain at a high metabolism. So those two days where he/she didn’t eat much the body was burning fat. The key is to take in less calories than you burn. However if you go to long not eating much and "dieting" your body will adjust which is why people don’t lose weight after a few short weeks.
The best way to lose abdominal fat is to eat right and exercise regularly. And there’s a growing body of research to show that the fastest way to burn off the fat from your belly is with a combination of weight training and aerobic exercise.
Reducing the amount of calories you consume is the most effective way to get rid of belly fat. Really, when it comes down to it, losing any kind of fat, no matter where it is on your body, requires you to consume less calories than you body needs. This lack of calories will set into motion the processing of excess body fat to make up for the lack of calories. But don’t go all crazy about it. Starving your body of calories is only good to a certain extent, after a point you begin to do damage to important things, like your central nervous system.
There’s a reason they call it a “beer belly,” and drinking less beer, or quitting drinking altogether, will help you lose belly fat. No matter who (or how good looking) the drinker is, beer is bad for a number of reasons. The most obvious reason is the caloric content of beer. The less obvious reasons are the inflammation of the pancreas and liver, and the bloating that often accompany the over-consumption of alcoholic beverages; this includes alcohol mixed with sweet, sugary liquids like soda.
Consuming less food loaded with sugar will help you to lose tummy fat. Sugar is a big one. The sugar found in junk food and soda is the kind of sugar that burns quickly, unlike those sugars found in fruits and vegetables, which burn more slowly. If your body is processing sugar to create energy, and you’re not using any energy, those sugars will be converted into fat for later use.
I would like to point out that most of these answers are right in that cardio is the best way to get rid of fat but I want to point out a couple little tips.
- Building muscle is a big help too. Muscles burn calories!
- Crunches and Situps DO NOT specifically target belly fat. Yes, do your crunches and sit ups but its not the belly fat "kill button"

How to get rid of the Fat Belly!!!
If you want to lose weight in your belly you have to lose it throughout. The best way to lose the fat in the stomach area is by proper diet and exercise. Here are some tips for what should be done and what should not be done to reduce your belly fat. To read it check out http://www.medimanage.com/my-weight/articles/how-to-get-rid-of-the-fat-belly.aspx
You should combine diet and exercise for best and fast results.
Choose healthy foods you like and replace unhealthy ones you eat in a day with them. Drink lots of water. Stay away from fat and sugar. Dont eat after 7pm. Eat 5 small meals in day, including snacks, not 3 big ones. Eat grilled and boiled foods, not fried and fastfoods. Here is a sample diet plan;
Breakfast: Slices of tomatoes, a piece of cheese, 4 5 olives, 2 egg whites and green tea
Snack: nuts or fruits
Lunch: Salad
Snack again
Dinner: Grilled chicken, turkey or fish and boiled vegetables or salad
You should exercise for best, fast and permanent results. You can exercise at home easily with a good program. And support it with walkings or runnings. There is a good program which includes exercises and eating plan. It is most recommended one and called as Truth Abou Abs. Me and my friends use it. Take a look at it and more helpful articles from http://www.diettipsandfitness.com/
Good luck:)
