I have self diagnosed IBS, I have been hospitalized for it. The doctor said eat better, Sometimes it doesnt work. I live in new jersey and want to be well informed when I approach my doctor about it.
I’m looking for things that I should avoid in my cooking so that he doesn’t get an upset stomach as well as things that I should include in my cooking to help alleviate his symptoms. I love to cook and eat and don’t want his IBS to get in the way of how much both of us love food. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I just want to be able to do what I want on the weekends without worrying about cleansing. I would like to know if you can still loose weight if you only do the diet Monday through Friday and if the cleansing benefits are effected by eating/drinking alcohol on the weekends? Thanks
Every time I know I have something important coming up the night before I start violently puking and have diarrhea. Every time I try to sleep I will wake up in ten minutes, sweating with my heart pounding, and breathing really fast. I really don’t feel good, i’m going to puke, I have school in 30 minutes, and I can’t miss any more days. Are there any over the counter irritable bowel syndrome medications or something. I need something I can’t do this anymore.
So for about the past two weeks ive been having some mild symptoms that correlate with the symtoms of IBS (cramping, pain, muscle "spasms" in stomach/intestine area).
My question is this: For a typical person with IBS, if you ate a "trigger" food how long after eating it would you experience symptoms (bloating, cramps, diarrhea etc)?
If you have tried them, are they safe, do they really work, what is the best one to use.
They advertise so many colon cleansing products but i would like to know what is a very good one and where can i buy or order one?

I was wondering if anyone who suffers from IBS has used activated charcoal tablets and whether they have found it to be an effective treatment for wind (especially trapped wind) and bloating?

My dad has just started having pains and bloating. Doctor has ruled out anything serious and says it’s IBS. Dad is so stressed about pain (which leads to more pain) that he won’t try eliminating one food at a time or trying different things. He will only eat soup and liquidised food as that’s all that is "safe" for him.
What can I recommend that will make him eat normal food again.

I don’t even know why I bother. My friends are right there is nothing we can do to stop these Politicians. I for one will vote for anything but Republican or Democrat from now on.
I have Irritable Bowel Sydrome, as well as high stomach acid. I find it very difficult to find foods to eat that don’t upset my stomach. If i eat fruit on an empty stomach im sick, if i eat toast with peanut butter i get pains, and if i eat bacon, eggs, or anything unhealthy for breakfast my IBS is bad all day. After every meal i just have pains and nausea. I have no idea what to eat when most of the trigger foods are very common foods.
I’m looking for a water filtration solution that works as well as water distilliation — a single unit or multiple units that remove *EVERYTHING* from the water.
I have inquired Polar Bear distillers about whether their systems could be used on a whole house and they told me that they could not — is this true? Couldn’t multiple distillers, or distillers linked to larger storage tanks be used together?
What are some of the products out there and how can these products be installed and/or linked together? Can you use a softener, a Reverse-Osmosis and a UV filter all at once, for instance? Are there systems that do all of this without having to "chain" them together?
