I have had UC for four years. I was diagnosed when I was about 22.
You will feel alone a lot of the time. You will probably get depressed about it. I have experienced joy when I am in remission, only to feel hopeless when I have a flare up. I have been down that road many times.

I have had to quit three jobs because of my UC. I have learned to live with it and accept that I can't be in remission all the time.

Things that SEEM to sometimes help me are: avoiding bread and coffee, taking fish oil tablets and walking each day, bit of gentle excercise helps.

Have you considered joining a support group or something like that? They can be a wonderful help.

Just do the best you can, look after yourself and remember - your cards have been dealt, nothing you can do about it, so try to have the best quality of life you can xx

I was diagnosed with mild colitis. If this is mild colitis then I am not looking forward to severe colitis. I was diagnosed Monday and I do not know what to expect. I am 54 and not ready to have something like this.
