Has anyone ever gotten tested for colitis? Can someone explain the process to me and how dangerous?

colitis is….I heard they have to put you to sleep and stick a tube up your rear
I don’t understand why they have to stick a tube up the rear?
MY BOWEL HAS HAD A LOT OF BLOOD IN IT RECENTLY

yes i can. i have it and have had many tests. you go on a liquid diet the day before the exam. and you MUST drink all of the laxative that they give you and do the enemas or the test will be for nothing. the day of the test they give you and i.v. and gas and you get really sleepy and high and before you know it, it is over and you are laying in recovery pooting up a storm. it can be dangerous especially when they puncture the colon and have to do emergency surgery. but it hardly ever happens.
they have to go up through "the rear" because that’s where the colon is.
colitis is an inflammation of the colon.
