A good remedy that many of the native Americans used was Ginger root. It is good for your stomach. It prevents nausea. Another remedy is to buy Chai Spice Black tea it contains spices ;like ginger root, nutmeg, and other herbs for the stomach. You can even order it online at http://www.stashtea.com.
I personally drink a few ounces of pure Aloe Vera juice every day. It really cleans out your stomach.
I am not young anymore. And it helps me a lot.
Other than going to a doctor , I use these remedies. But they work for me. for the acid i would recommend omeprazole tablets. you have to get a prescription for that one though. give it a try and see. you have nothing to lose.
I will tell you what helped me although I only consulted with a doctor on the acid-reducer. I started first by taking fiber pills because I had constipation issues and that was the easiest way to be sure I was getting enough. I found myself going to the bathroom more regularly and easier and started feeling better. When I started having serious stomach acid issues, my doctor suggested I take an over the counter pill for heartburn/stomach acid like Prilosec (if you can afford it) or the generic version of Zantac or Pepsid AC. I took one of those every day for 3months and it seemed to fix what was likely a stomach ulcer because I had reduced acid production.
I believe it is always important to talk to a doctor, esp. if you take other medications or something. However, perhaps this is something to consider and/or a place to start.
