Detox Your Body
As a disclaimer, I am not a doctor or medical expert and in no way am I suggesting that anyone reading this should self-diagnose or start a detox program on their own without first consulting their doctor or medical practitioner.
The following is meant for information purposes only and is not meant to diagnose or recommend treatment to anyone. You should use caution when embarking upon any diet change, cleansing or detoxification program and you do so at your own risk.
With that said, the following is just my personal experience and recommendations of others who have dealt with the subject of detox and body cleansing. As a matter of fact, many thousands and perhaps millions of people before you have successfully rid themselves of harmful toxins and helped them improve their health through a proper detox.
The method of ridding the body of toxins and waste is known as a detox or detoxification. There are many different kinds of detox programs and some of them target specific organs such as the liver or the gall bladder.
A cleansing body detox is a great way to feel better and more rejuvenated. You can feel more energy, lose weight and cleanse the tissues and organs as well as give your digestive system a cleansing.
One of the most well known detoxing methods is the master cleanse otherwise known as the lemonade diet. It is basically a 10 day fasting during which you drink only fresh water with lemon juice, a small amount of pure maple syrup and a dash of cayenne pepper.
Many people have enjoyed the benefits of such a cleanse and you can too, provided you make sure you have checked with your physician or doctor to see if you have any precautions in doing so.
The health benefits are tremendous as you can rid the body of accumulated waste from the tissues and organs as well as the blood stream. We are bombarding our bodies with sugar, fats, alcohol, cigarettes, coffee and other harmful chemicals and products. Even if we do not drink alcohol or smoke, we are eating foods which might be de-natured or filled with fats and sugars and need to go on a fasting diet or a cleansing diet to get rid of some of these destructive elements.
Then there is the traditional juice fasting which has been done by many thousands of people to help cleanse and rejuvenate the body. Fresh vegetables and fruits are juiced in a juicer which separates the juice from the pulp and cellulose. A typical juice might be made from greens such as kale, spinach and parsley and a hand full of sprouts along with maybe a lemon and some ginger for punch. The lemon makes the juice even healthier and the ginger is anti viral and has healing properties as well.
But aside from maybe adding an apple or pear to a vegetable juice, keep the fruits and vegetables separate when making juices. Avoid the citrus juices and fruits.
A water fast is just fasting with only water being drunk. This allows for a real rest of the digestive system allowing for more toxins to be eliminated.
If you can, make sure to take a sauna, as a good sweat will help cleanse the skin and pores as well as get those toxins out of the body.
Some homeopathic and naturopathic physicians recommend detox kits with drops that you can take that help cleanse and eliminate toxins. Even women can notice that their cellulite starts to disappear when they clean out the toxic materials from their body systems.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned this yet, but most people with IBS seem to get the most benefit from supplementing with probiotics. Fiber is good to help maintain regularity, but probiotics add another degree of help for that, as do digestive enzymes (although to a lesser degree).
Both my mother and brother have IBS and among all the things they’ve tried (Mom has tried many things over 30+ years), probiotics have helped them the most and they have both mentioned to me independantly that they definitely notice when they have been without them for a few days.
I would definitely try a good probiotic complex with at least 3-5 billion viable organisms from at least 2-4 different strains of probiotics for the best results. Good luck and I hope I helped!
a cork
you need fibre. Natural herbs don’t work and can actually cause more problems. Try eating more fibre and less dairy products. That will help you more
visit a nutritionist and they will help you figure out what in your diet is causing your problems and if you have any allergies or intolerances. avoid excess of sugar, caffeine, alcohol, processed foods, junk foods and refined carbohydrates. a good balanced healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables along with plenty of water should help you out
Yes – you’ll have to learn how to treat it yourself. I don’t think doctors take it very seriously. Get an Atkins’ book called "Vita-Nutrient Solution". You can get it for nothing from Amazon if you buy it used.
This is the best book I’ve ever seen about all the vitamins, minerals, fats, and amino acids and how they can be used in place of prescription drugs.
According to Dr. Atkins, Irritable Bowel is real responsive to a dose of Glutamine plus fish oil and vitamn E. There’s probably others. The Gutamine is an animo acid, and in the Atkins book it’s headlined as "The Gut Restorer". The Fish oil and vit. E are very soothing,
Irritable Bowel I believe is also called "leaky gut" – the tissue gets real thin – it’s irritated – inflamed – perhaps leaking stuff back into the body. In any case, it’s a lousy, poorly understood, problem. And you have to feed that tissue and make it strong. You can use very high doses of these things – Fish oil and Glutamine are only food. You might start out with 3 grams of fish oil and a small vit. E pill plus 3 grams of Glutamine twice a day – go to three times a day. Here, you’re your own doctor and you have just evaluate how you feel.
If you know a weight lifter – ask how much Glutamine he uses.
Anyway, get that book – it will save your life and you can get it for 1 penny.
Oh – cheap supplements can be gotten from Puritan Pride – get your Glutamine in powdered form – much cheaper. Also NOW Food is a real good cheap supplier through thecatalog.com
I have IBS and have found the medications to be a joke. I control my symptom by eating smaller meals with lean meats. Anything with a high fat content will make me sick. This includes eggs, avocados, and nuts. Also, it is important to increase your soluble fiber (the kind that disolves in water) and limit you insoluble fiber (bulk veggies) but don’t remove them completely from your diet, you still need them. Also, as much as I hate it, exersise helps alot. I don’t know why but I can really tell the difference. One more thing, drink plenty of water and limit caffene and carbonated beverages.
How old are you? How long have you had symptoms? What kinds of foods do you eat? Who diagnosed the IBS? Are you taking any medicine, herbs, etc? I was diagnosed over 25 years ago with a similar problem, and I always thought it strange that the doctors couldn’t really tell me WHY it happens, nor can they make it stop. Many doctors like to say that it’s an "autoimmune" disorder, and leave it at that. I’m sure that’s a possibility, but again, WHY? So, after many years of trying many things and seeing MANY doctors, regular and naturopathic, I will share with you the things that have helped me. First, I found that wheat was a food better left alone. Our bodies do not effectively digest wheat anyway, and it irritates the bowels of some people. Second, try and maintain general good health by eating right, sleeping right, and avoiding things that are known to be hazardous (drinking, smoking, crappy food, etc). Third, you must evalulate your liver health. This is huge. Many people have no idea what their liver does, where it is in the body, or what happens when it gets sick. This is a tragedy. When the liver is sick, (poisoned, damaged, congested, whatever) It will not detox poisons like fluoride, mercury, or anything else. One of the liver’s functions is to secrete bile into the duodenum during digestion. This bile has many functions, such as killing bacteria and parasites, counteracting stomach acids, and providing enzymes and hormones. The pancreas, which also secretes enzymes, shares some of the same ducts as the liver and will suffer when the liver suffers. So, long story short: If you eat food, but your liver is clogged or sick, you won’t get enough HEALTHY bile when and where you need it, resulting in poorly digested food, proliferation of "bad" bacteria and/or parasites, and possibly even stomach acid irritating the intestines. Chinese doctors have known this for thousands of years, but for some reason no one in America makes the connection. Weird. So, there could be lots of reasons for your IBS, but if you have reason to believe that you are intolerant of wheat or gluten, that would be an easy thing to figure out. EVERYTHING has a gluten-free version these days (Trader Joe’s gluten-free toaster waffles! yum!) In addition, if you are already leading a relatively healthy lifestyle but you have reason to believe that your liver is sick or clogged, then go for some liver-cleansing or flushing protocols, if you’re into that sort of thing. I know it is controversial, but I can tell you that liver flushing is REAL and it WORKS when you do it right. Some things that will make the liver sick: STRESS. Do not underestimate this. A stressful childhood, especially for a naturally sensitive person can wreak havoc on a healthy liver. Alcohol and/or drugs, including prescriptions can poison the liver and contribute to congestion and reduced bile flow. Other toxins, like mercury and fluoride can damage every organ in the body, including the liver. I have found that natural medications like herbs (Curing Formula is the best) will only offer temporary short-term relief and will eventually lose their effect. If you get relief from certain liver-supporting herbs like milk thistle, that is an indication that you are on the right track. However, you will not find lasting relief until you identify and address the toxins that are causing the imbalance in your digestive system. Here’s my disclaimer: The above is not meant as medical advice, nor is it meant to treat or cure any disease. This is solely based on my own experience, and I offer it only for informational purposes. Good luck!
Some people that have chronic IBS are cured when they avoid FLUORIDE, in all its forms, including flouridated water and flouridated toothpaste. You have to get a fancy water filter (reverse osmosis or activated alumina) to remove flouride from the water.
If you stop using flouridated toothpaste (as you should) make sure to take vitamin K2 (MK7 form) + vitamin D3 + cod liver oil to prevent cavities.
