I have had 4 laparoscopic surgeries and I am about to have a huge open 5 surgery. Surgeons are usually able (except in very rare cases) to use some of the same "sites" or holes that they used before. In a laparoscopic surgery the incisions are very small and when they remove you gallbladder, I have had it done, they suck the bile out of it first so it is like a deflated balloon and then they pull it out your belly button. The only problem I had was after the surgery I got bile colitis. You see, the gallbladder stores the liver’s bile and dumps it when you eat so when it is gone the liver just dumps whenever and can kill all the good bacteria in your digestive track until your body gets used to it….most people never have that problem though, I just have a very weird GI system….I hope this helps and everything gets better for you. feel free to email me. good luck!
You will be able to have the same procedure. have had several procedures redone for different reasons.
