I have IBS and this happens to me from time to time. It could be a tear or hemmorhoids. Your mom is right, bright red blood is usually not a problem. I have taken many medical classes because I’m in school to be a nurse. I don’t think there is anything wrong. If you are that worried make an appointment with your doctor.
yes-this has happened to me-no need to worry!
It is probally a hemmeroid inside of your rectum that was torn when you were using the restroom. These normally do not cause pain…and most people don’t even know they have them until they see a little red blood in the toilet or on the toilet paper. Add more fiber to your diet…to prevent hemmroids from getting worse. Also you can by preperation h and apply it to the inside of your rectum to shrink these hemmroids so they won’t get worse. Its normally, especially for someone with IBS.
Yes, after a large or painful bowel movement is it normal for you to bleed considering you are pushing very hard. In some cases it could be a sign of a hemorrhoid. If the bleeding continues even after stool softens go to the doctor that it a sign of a very serious problem.
This happens with my husband. It happens anytime he has consumed a large amount of dairy or shell fish. Just back track your diet on the last few things you ate before you bowel movement and see.
