Symptoms were infrequent bowel movements and later I'd have the constipation alternating with diarrhea, stomach cramping, sometimes explosive diarrhea. Stress was related to the symptoms as a young adult. You can add fiber (never helped me). I believe there are medications for it now but I don't know if there are age limits involved.
