Is colonoscopy prep basically the same as a colon cleanse?

I’ve been reading about colon cleansing kits online, and I came across an article that tells me you can follow the instructions for a colonoscopy prep and get the same results. Is this true?

Yes, you can basically follow the same prep. My husband had to get a colonoscopy and he prepped the same way that I do for my colon cleansing pills.
Basically, yes. A colonoscopy prep is a bit harsher on the body, but it is also over with pretty quickly. Maybe 3-4 hours start to finish. It’s also only $5 over the counter. I just had a colonoscopy and saw photos, clean as a whistle! So, if you are doing this once a year, no big deal. But if you wanted to do a monthly cleanse, then go with the gentler stuff. I had been considering going the "natural" route but am now convinced that is not really necessary.
