I have had a colonoscopy (where doctors run a camera on a tube through your colon looking for tumors or polyps).To prepare for that you are given a cleansing with laxatives and enemas and put on a restricted diet for a couple of days before. If there is a lot of gunk left over, the doctors would not be able to see the wall of the colon to detect these tumors or polyps. For years people survived without the colon cleansers and were perfectly healthy. A lot of our health problems stem from processed foods and lack of exercise.
