Is there a need to be worried about Gall bladder surgery?
I just went to my doctor and he said I need to have gall bladder surgery. I have been having some little chest pain and I want to know if that will effect the surgery? Has anyone else had this problem before? I’m just really scared.
I told the doctor I was seeing about my chest and I looked it up on google. Chest pain is one of the gall bladder symptoms. They are going to completely remove my gall bladder.

For what I understand, no. I am having the surgery tomorrow actually! I am very scared, not of the surgery itself, but of the "after effects". I made the mistake of reading the internet horror stories. I actually just got off the phone with the wonderful nurse at my surgeons office and she said that there is absolutely nothing to worry about. She herself does not have a gall bladder. She said she has been working at my doctors office 16 years and has seen very little problems with the surgery and told me that only 3-5% of people experience problems after they have it out. I have read that your chest pain is a symptom. My pains are in my right side and my back from gall stones. Good luck to you and dont worry! We will be okay!
My mom got gall bladder surgery. They removed hers actually, are they doing that for you too? Anyway, the doctor said she does hundreds of gall bladder surgeries every year so no worries here!
Let your surgeon know about the chest pain,… he/she will let you know if it is a problem and possibly have you get a medical clearance to be on the safe side… gall bladder surgery isn’t that big of a deal.. it is an outpatient procedure so you are in and out the same day… good luck
MY 88Y/O MOTHER HAD HER GALLBLADDER OUT A FEW MONTHS AGO. IT TOOK 4 HRS FOR THE WHOLE THING..IN AND OUT, SHE ONLY TOOK ONE PAIN PILL. EVERYONE IS NERVOUS ABOUT SURGERY . THAT’S WHY WE GIVE YOU SOME "I DONT CARE" MEDICINE BEFORE. BELIEVE ME, YOU WONT CARE. HONEST.
