Do detox programs work well?
Have you done a detox before and if so, what were some of the results? What did it do for you?
I don’t mean for alcohol…I mean just a full body detox.

Has anyone felt better not using alcohol, totally abstaining? How long did it take to detox?
Good answers, I know that detox is different for everyone, I think I am hypersensitive to alcohol, depressed, moody , upand down, the last time I drank was a week ago and I think the two drinks I had have finally started to clear my system, I dont consider myself a hard drinker, but ti think it has really screwed me up mentally. I have read that drinking can affect 100 different neurotransmitters negatviely

I mean it’s bad for your liver, and the liver is meant to take the bad stuff out of you, like, to detox your body (I think). And the liver also releases vitamins and toxins to your skin which are suppose to keep it hydrated and smooth.
And I’ve heard that alcohol dehydrates your skin. Idunno.
Could alcohol make you age faster?
A friend of mine took a drug test for a factory job. He drinks, but doesn’t do drugs–is alcohol considered a drug on this test. Thanks! Btw, he doesn’t drink a lot–maybe a couple of Lite Beers a day or every two days.
I’ve got kidney disease, stage 3 and I’m a 16 year old girl. I’m not planning on drinking any time soon, I don’t drink but I was wondering if later in life if I’ll ever be able to have alcohol? How much?
Thanks for your answers!
This is my first question.
I realize I am a rare case, so there is no need to point that out.
I am almost 25 and recently quit drinking. I was a cronic drinker for the last 7+ years. I have not drank in 36 days (but who’s counting). It was very hard the first 2 weeks and I finally feel like I am not dying. But, I still have no energy and wake up with night sweats every night. Last week my body erupted in break outs and I have never broken out before. Other things have happened, my period was so intence with pain I was crying, and I have missed work with headaches. This was also last week. My question is, why am I still dealing with this? Could it be other issues besides detox? Can I speed it up?
Just a little more back ground, I also quit doing cocain at the same time. I was doing a lot everyday and had been for several months straight.
Also, I have been dealing with serious eating issues since I was at least 16. But since 20 at least I have thrown up everyday at least once. This I am also trying to quit. For a year or more all I consumed was alcohol. Just admiting this to myself is a huge shock and this new found reality is crazier than any high. Please no insults. I have had a DUI, torn apart relationships, totaled my car and almost died, all years apart. I have finally stopped. Can anyone tell me if it is normal I am still detoxing? Or what I can do to help it along?
Thank you.
A friend of mine has twin’s that have been ill with diarrhea. She has been breast feeding. She also consumes alcohol on occasion’s. Could this be giving her baby’s diarrhea. I have urged her not to drink while breast feeding. Please reply. I am counting on some kind of information to show her the harm that she is doing to her baby’s.
I am looking to start a 7 day detox from alcohol today. Am really nervous as dont like taking medication and worry about feeling ‘out of it’, as I am on my own and raising my young child. Are ther severe side effects when taking? My dosage comes in 5mg tablets and the first day I take 80mg, (20mg 4 times a day) then reduces so on day 7, i will only take one tablet then I’m finished. What happens after is also a concern. I am not a heavy drinker, but wanted to get help with not drinking every evening, hence the prescription. I am tempted to not take and use strong will and jsut not drink. Any advice would be great.
I have epilepsy and am also an alcoholic. I used the alcohol as a way of controlling my anxiety about seizures because they’re horrifying to say the least.
I’m realizing now that the alcohol is killing me and Im up to 6-8 beers a day. I need to stop. I also have no health insurance but have seizure medications and can’t go to a public detox because I can’t afford it.
I have xanax but never mix the two. Can I ween myself off using xanax? I’m afraid of withdrawl seizures. Thanks.
Food/drink (other than alcohol) that would be good or bad to help me through the shakes and nausea?
Oh lord… iron levels? So if mine have been low (to the point of needing transfusions before), I really ought not to be trying this???
