Has anyone heard of a product called donnatal? Their website www.donnatal.com says its used to treat the symptoms of IBS (irritable colon, spastic colon, mucous colitis and acute enterocolitis). There are not many prescriptions out there for treating irritable bowel syndrome and I am curious to know peoples thoughts on this one. Thank you in advance!

What have people used and worked for them. IBS is a terrible and frustrating condition so I wanted to know what is good before I go with what a gastroenterologist might tell me to try. There are some prescription products on the market for IBS. www.donnatal.com:
Donnatal is an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (irritable colon, spastic colon, mucous colitis) and acute enterocolitis. Donnatal has been used for over 30 years and is a trusted product by doctors and patients.
what’s Zelnorm? do they have a website like www.donnatal.com ? I looked them up and the first thing I saw was a recall.

I have been suffering from colitis for 10 years. I am now 30 and I still get relapse that last a month or 2 months. I am trying to find a permanant cure if there is any. Its getting difficult to cope with it now that I have a 19 month old daughter.

I’ve had "IBS" severely for years (previous colonoscopies have shown no evidence of colitis, but they were over 3 years ago), but now I think it could be colitis. I have reason to believe this because I’ve lost 65 lbs over the last year, 10 of which have been in the last 3 weeks. I’m now officially underweight, which has never happened to me. I’m not losing on purpose, it’s just that I’m often in so much abdominal pain that I cannot eat. After the painful cramps and diarrhea I had today, I went to the ER. They gave me pain meds, sent me home, and said to check with a doctor. I’m also weak and fatigued, recently getting spells of light-headedness.
The thing is, I have a summer full of trips planned, starting the third week in June! If I have a treatable condition like Crohn’s, I want to be on that med before I start flying all over the country! How can I get into a doc’s office and let him agree to scope me SOON?

My doctors gave my cleocin to get rid of my bv. I was reading in the pamphlet that it can cause pseudomembranous colitis. I wasnt sure if anyone knew how common this happens among people who have taken this antibiotic for BV since it says about 30% is absorbed systemically. Any ideas?

I have one coming up this month because the doctors think I have Ulcertive Colitis.
I have one coming up this month and I’m pretty worried because the doctors think I have ulcertive colitis. I’m only 19 years old and it’s not very common for people under 50 to have this done. What should I expect before, during, and after?
Thank you!

I was just wondering since it’s topical if it would really post a big threat to use it once a day on my face. Anyone know more about it? Id rather have acne than colitis, but if it’s most likely not going to cause a major problem, id like to control my breakouts. Please don’t reccomend any other acne treatments that isn’t my question. thanks

My daughter has colitis. She is only 21 and has developed a blood clot in her leg (DVT). This caused the leg to swell up from the clot. We know it was a clot because they scanned the leg and confirmed this. Has anyone else had this problem who has colitis? She also took Asacol, and awhile back took Singulair. If you have colitis and have had this problem, please comment. Tell me what happened, and if it resolved itself, or not.
She is on meds. for thinning the blood, which followed her hospitalization. She is being followed by a doctor. But I am wondering how many others with uclerative colitis may have experienced this.
