They are 5 mg tablets and he told me to take 4 pills at once, i am a little scared because everything i have looked up on it says 10mg is the most you should take in a 24 hour period. Is my dr. an idiot or is he right?

I’ve been trying to go but only went once and there wasnt that much. I tried to take stool softener pills but they aren’t effective. For some reason my bod responds very very well when I take constipation pills when I had diarrhea but not very well to stool softener pills. Any tips on how to naturally soften the stool :)
