I am a 30 year old woman. For the past few months I have had the following symptoms:

constipation alternating with diarrhea
fatigue
lower abdominal pain
slight traces of blood on toilet paper after wiping

I have an appt for a consultation with a surgeon on Monday. He will be setting me up for a colonoscopy. I was just wondering what were some of your results and symptoms. My grandma had colon cancer and my dad had colon polyps.

This is super awkward and embarrassing.. I just joined a gym 2 weeks ago and I’ve basically changed my lifestyle pretty quick.. I eat very well now and go to the gym 4-5 days a week. But I’ve been having diarrhea and gas!? Someone told me that it’s my "body getting rid of the toxins, etc." Is that true?

Since around February 6th to now I have been experiencing Abdominal pain(especially on lower left and right abdomen), bowel changes( constipation, diarrhea, normal), nausea(on occasion). I went to the pediatrician doctor February 18 and took a blood and urine test and nothing was wrong. Doctor suggested I just had a stomach bug that would pass quickly. I went to my university doctor March 17 and was told it most likely was irritable bowel syndrome or lactose intolerance but she was not sure and told me to see a gastreontologist (stomach doctor).
I wanted to get more information from others with IBS. I am 18 and female. I have lost weight(3 lbs) from changing my diet. Just recently( a week) I completely changed it to mostly soluble fiber and insoluble and practically no milk. I feel like my symptoms happen so often that it cannot be IBS.
Is this IBS or something else?

I’m 16 years old and have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Does anyone know of any tips or remedies that will help my condition? I seem to have a lot of trouble with loose foods such as oats. It’s a bad condition and I’m a kid, and do not enjoy having it. I get constipated regularly or I have diarrhea. I just want to know of any kind of tips or something that could help guide me in what foods I should eat and what I should stay away from…please help….thanks.

I got drunk yesterday on a 500ml. of a green Listerine mouthwash product
it contained regular drinking alcohol together with isopropyl alcohol thymol methyl salicylate and other chemicals which are damn bad for you (I am aware that this was a bad idea; don’t start nagging me now again; it’s just that all the stores we’re closed and I couldn’t get my hands on anything else)
I was nauseous; puked; had a diarrhea; my liver started hurting really bad for no less than a hour even before I got sober; when I did start getting sober I had a hangover and I had a bad headache
my feces are still not normal enough
I’ve just had a meal and I got nauseous again because it contained a lot of sweet food like dates and soy milk
also I feel a very mild discomfort in my tummy right now (I’m completely sober)
how bad have I hurt my inner organs and how to make them heal/cleanse them/make them regenerate?
also – when will my liver and kidneys will be healed enough to accept an 720mg. dosage of dextromethorphan? I wanted to get myself two cough syrup bottles today but I though that I shall wait a little bit to give a chance to my body to get better
so can you help me out here guys? thanks very much to anyone who shall be kind enough to answer my questions

I have 3 ferrets and they all have diarrhea. They have constant supply to fresh water, they eat Evo kibble, don’t have access to anything they are not supposed to eat, have baths as needed, get regular nail trimmings, have clean ears, eyes, and teeth. They are overall spoiled, but healthy ferrets! Is there anything I can do to get their bodies working properly so they don’t have diarrhea?

The other night I had excrutiating stomach cramps. I felt like I had gas too but I couldn’t pass it. I had nausea and vomitted once (that made the cramps better). I did not have diarrhea. The cramps started out mild and progressed to very bad within two hours and lasted about 3 hours after that. This happened once before a year ago and I went to the ER thinking it was my appendix. After being tested for a ct scan for appendix and ovaries, the ER doc sent me home with a diagnosis of cramps with no named cause and a prescription of bentyl. I had some pills left so I took one and I guess it helped becuase my cramps went away. This was two nights ago. I have only had mild cramps (like a dull pain that moves around, not always in the same place) If the cramps come back I plan on making an appointment. I want to ask the doc all the right questions. Does it sound like it could be IBS so I can inquire about it?

I had diarrhea at the beginning of the month that lasted about a day. Two weeks later, I had the exact same symptoms. Now, about two weeks after THAT, I have the same thing again. The first time I thought it was food poisoning, and the second time I was less sure, and now I’m totally boggled. The things I’m eating now aren’t any different than I’ve been eating my whole life, and I can’t distinguish my diet between the times I have diarrhea and the times I don’t. Any ideas?

Everyone has felt those spells of sever sharp pain that precede a bout of diarrhea. What causes it, I wonder.
I’m not looking for a treatment. I’m just wondering about the cause. Medical websites seem to focus on treatments and diagnosis. This is a science question more than a medical question.

I’ve been having constipation for the past week pretty hard. I’ve been trying to go but only went once and there wasnt that much. I tried to take stool softener pills but they aren’t effective. For some reason my bod responds very very well when I take constipation pills when I had diarrhea but not very well to stool softener pills. Any tips on how to naturally soften the stool

I started getting nausea, constipation, bloating, stomach pain with no appetite with sometimes a bad metallic taste in my mouth around a week ago – I have IBS but I never get constipated like this – I usually will have severe cramps with pain and then diarrhea not constipation for long periods of time – I have never been constipated I usually go 3 or more times a day – me and my roommate started feeling sick around the same time with the same symptoms but hers went away and I still have constipation, bloating and lack of appetite – I bought a whole body cleanse – that is supposed to cleanse out your colon and liver to see if it would help – it has fiber and herbal laxatives in it…but nothing…I did use Ex-Lax 3 days ago and that worked but I read you shouldn’t use that kind of laxative as it could cause damage and/or make it worse – I really don’t know what to do I feel so backed up and my stomach is hard and sticking out – I feel like I’m full and I need to clear myself out – I’m afraid to eat anything in case it makes it worse..

i am going in for a colonoscopy tomorrow and have been told to drink 2 liters of medication to clear the colon
however I am finding it really hard to drink and keep gagging on it I have taken half the solution and my stool is clear (due to the fact that Iv been having running diarrhea for 3 weeks..so the solution didnt really have to do much to clear my bowels

WE "addopted " a baby potbellied pig after its mother died, its about a week old, I have been feeding it goats milk and baby cereal-which it loves, but since we got him he has had diarrhea which I can’t get to stop, as a "new" mom I don’t know what to do, any help?
