My father has been in the hospital for almost two weeks because his liver has failed due to alcohol (alcoholic hepatitis). The doctors say there is not much they can do so we’ve been giving him alternative medicines like Goji berry juice and lemonade cleanse (lemon juice, maple syrup and Cayenne pepper). Does anyone know if these things could have an adverse effect on his health?
Thank you for your opinion Gary, the doctor told us he can’t give us his professional opinion on these things because he has no training on them, though he did say it’s okay to try them. So I guess we’re just reaching for the stars.

My dermatologist prescribed me solodyn for my acne. He had prescribed me 135mg and i was only 14 and 135 pounds at the time. I took this for maybe 3 months or more. i was starting to have stomach pains and the doctor didnt want to change me. We then changed doctors and found out that 135mg would normally be prescribed to a 270 plus pound guy. So i was wandering if this could have cause my stomach and gall bladder pains.

I am 30 years old and mother of 17 months old baby. 2 weeks ago I has laproscopic surgery of gall bladder. I had stones in my bile duct, so doctors removed my gall bladder. I know gall bladder helps in breaking down the fats. I just want to know that I will be obese in future or not? and how can I prevent my obesity?My height is 5.3 and my weight is 110 pounds. crohns, does it double her chances of death or anything?? I feel so bad for her as she has suffered from the colitis for over 20 years now, the doctors say her pouch might have got infected or she may have the crohns for sure. Has anyone experieced this? I had a really bad infection, which caused a lot of swelling. So, the doctors gave me painkillers for the pain. I haven’t taken any in 3 weeks because it has since cleared up. But, I don’t want that medicine sitting around in my liver for a long period of time. Is there a simple way to "detox"?

I think i have colitis (not ulcerative colitis though) because i have all the symptoms of it. My doctors have been diognosing me with Ibs but i think it is colitis because the symptoms seem more like what im getting. Is a colonoscopy the only way to determine i have colitis?

My grandmother had a massive stroke about two weeks ago, had a heart attack today, now has pneumonia and is in kidney failure. The doctors will give us very little information. How long will it be before her body completly shuts down?

I want to do a liver cleanse / detox (the one with epsom salt, then olive oil, apple juice every 2 hours etc), but had my gallbladder removed. Is this something I can still do without a gallbladder? It sounds like this process helps get rid of gallstones, but I thought there were only gallstones in the gallbladder, not in the liver too? please advise nurses or doctors!

I had UC before I was pregnant, and it went into remission if you like in my 10th week of pregnancy, and then came back with a vengeance 3 weeks ago. I am about to go into hospital so the doctors can see what’s happening

I have a rare form of colitis, called lymphocytic colitis. The doctors say it is in remission, but I still always feel ill, as if I am not in remission. I have tried all the medications there are. Does anyone know of a natural cure/remedy for this? Or even just for normal colitis?
