The doctors said it doesn’t really serve a purpose. LIARS. Why else would it be there. It stores bile which helps break down certain foods, because the gall bladder isn’t there bile is constantly dripping in your system. I had mine taken over a year ago and it sucks. What are the problems any of you are having now?

Just curious. I kept getting told my kidney is a perfect match and that I am very lucky to have it which I know but I am curious what are the % of people who have a perfect match. I know if my kidney failed tomorrow which i am sure it won’t since it was in good shape the last time i went to the doctors. It wasn’t from a living relative either so that probably made it more unquice. Can anyone tell me what makes a perfect match a perfect match?

My mom is in the hospital with an e-coli infection. It is in her kidney. The doctors said she has internal bleeding somewhere in her body. I looked up her symptoms on the internet and it sounds like hemorrhagic colitis. Is this very treatable? I’m really scared. Please help me.

When I was pregnant, I was hospitalized on two seperate occasions for what I believe to be kidney stones. I strained my urine, but didn’t notice passing any. The doctors were only able to give me an ultrasound due to my pregnancy, but they said none were visible. The pain was worse than child birth. I have had one reoccurance since the pregnancy, unfortunately I was overseas at the time and couldn’t seek medical attention. I am worried that there is something wrong with me and I am scared to have another reoccurance. The pain is the most intense pain I’ve ever had in my entire life. Please let me know if you think this could be an enlarged kidney stone or if you know of any other illnesses that would produce this much pain in my lower back, side, and groin.

I had my gall bladder removed a year ago & I have these really sharp, painful pains like something is burning and cutting me. My surgeon and Gastroenteritis doctors keep telling me they don’t know why I’m having these problems. Has anyone had this problem?
I forgot to mention that my family doctor done a complete liver profile work up on me and my test results were great.

I think what I have is Irritable Bowel Syndrome but I have been to several doctors and there guess is as good as mine. I stopped eating in the morning and don’t eat until 1pm or later and I have not had any problems with my stomach after that! I know not eating isn’t the best thing but it’s better than having an accident or killer stomach pains. Anyone else have this, not being able to eat in the morning?

I have to go for an x-ray tomorrow, the doctors think I have a gall bladder infection - just want to know what i’m up for.
I have read about it on the net, but is it surgery only or is there medication that can fix it too??

I have recently had really bad constipation and haven’t been able to go to the loo within 4 days. I went to the doctors about it like a year ago they gave me something but that also didnt work.
My questions are:
Why do you get constipation?
How do you get rid of constipation?

I had kidney stones a year ago but I still have a constant ache. I assumed it would go away but it didn’t. I went to doctors and he told me there were five possibilities; new kidney stone, infection, kidney trauma, enlarged kidney, or blood in/surrounding my kidney. Through test and x-rays we eliminated kidney stones or an infection. So, my questions are what do the last three options mean(what are they)? How are they treated? What is the possibility of each being my problem, how common are they? Or, what else could it be? Here are my symptoms. Constant aches, within my body not the skin, aches get worse when I am cold, I’ve had it for a year and it has not gotten any better/worse, I have not had any illnesses since(chills, fevers), I had lithotripsy to break up the original kidney stone, I have a scar from it, I had a shunt. Please help, the news I received from my doctor made me nervous and I don’t understand what each possibility really means. Include links too if you can.

I just had a kidney stone and passed it. 3 days of Hell. I’ve read a ton about how they form and the details of passing them. But I haven’t been able to find out how long it takes to form them.
Does it take months? Days? I’m trying to piece together why mine may have come to pass (pun intended) out of nowhere, with no history of kidney stones and according to the doctors, no others kicking around in the kidneys.
The week before my stone came I had been heavy on the exercise and probably light on the water intake. I had also been heavy on the protein and red meat. If a week is all it takes to form one, then that week would explain it … but how long DO they take to form?

I had a really bad infection, which caused a lot of swelling. So, the doctors gave me painkillers for the pain. I haven’t taken any in 3 weeks because it has since cleared up. But, I don’t want that medicine sitting around in my liver for a long period of time. Is there a simple way to "detox"?

I had my gall bladder taken out because of gall stones. The doctors do the surgery then go golfing. To them its no big deal. What shall I expect down the road? Thanks for any diet advise. I do feel great now with no more cramps and issues.
