Someone I know is drinking so bad that I fear he will die soon and he simply does not want to stop no matter what is said to him. I was thinking of driving him to a detox hospital (do such things exist?) and letting the doctors do what I can’t. I know alcoholism is a problem an individual has to overcome by him/herself but like I said, he’s been drinking heavily for two weeks and hasn’t been sober yet. He almost never eats and smokes every ten minutes when awake. He has no health insurance either, so I am asking you straight up cost. I know prices for hospital days are scary but I need to know. No matte rhow high it may be I think it is the only option left.
I need to know the price for the detox itself, 1 or 2 days in the hospital stay and the food and other commodities that may be provided. No insurance.

I have come back from the hospital, for what I hope is the last time from overdosing. The doctors say if I keep it up, ill eventually need a liver transplant. I feel sick, tired, and depressed. Maybe I am looking for a quick fix, but I would like to some how cleanse my body of the toxins, and get some energy back. Anyway have any ideas? I have thought of the master cleanse, but I can never seem to make it more then a day. I have all the ingredients, and could start it now, does anyone have any tips to be successful? or any other ideas. I just want some energy

my brother has been in alcohol detox 3 times in a 12 month period. my mom visited him wed in the detox hospital and she said he didnt look good at all. he checked himself in last friday because he drank 16 beers in about 2 hours. he has been to detox numerous times in his life, he will quit for awhile then just go back to drinking again. the doctors told him last time (before this time) that his body wont be able to handle another detox. he is only 35 yrs old.

My brother-in-law has just been diagnosed with colon cancer. Apparently it’s already spread to his liver and lungs. He also has some cysts formed on his kidneys and pancreas. They’ve told him it’s terminal and he has about 3 years to live. The man is only 41! He has 4 young girls, the youngest being 3. He hasn’t started any treatment yet, but they’re going to do a colonscopy, and will remove the colon, then he’ll start chemo. My question: Is there anything out there that could possibly fix the damage done? Any sort of herbal remedies he could try before the doctors start their treatment? What about life insurance? Does anyone know of a company that will cover him? Has anyone recovered from this illness personally? If so, how? We refuse to let him die without first trying every available resource possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have had a lot of trouble trying to receive a prescription for pain meds. Here is my problem. I have some major problems with my bowels and pain. I think I may have a serious bowel condition. It could be Inflammatory bowel disease or crohns disease. I have done research into my symptoms. I could explain, but it can get a little unpleasant. One thing I know for sure is I have some very strong pain from this. Its is intolerable. I have tried everything to fix this problem. Ive tried improving my diet. Adding more fiber, fruits and veggies. I also have increased my fluid intake. Juices and water. Ive also drank more milk. Ive used vitamins. I have tried laxatives, stool softeners and antidiarrheals. I even tried a total bowel cleanse. The kind that they use to prepare for a colonoscopy. I am out of options. cant even have bowel movemnts without some sort of over the counter medication. The visual symptoms are making me worried. (appearance of stool) All of this has been going on for 2 years now. Its has gotten much much worse over the past 6 months. I am at a breaking point.

My current situation is this… I have seen a few different doctors for this. They all are saying that my problems arent very serious. I need to see a specialist. I cant see a gastroenterologist, because my primary doctor will not give me a referall. They will not give me a prescription for pain meds in the mean time. They refuse. This really upsets me, because I feel that they dont trust me. I also think that they wont take me seriously.

heres the thing she wont give me a referral, because she says all they will do is give me a colonoscopy. I cant get a colonoscopy, because my insurance will not cover one. So inorder to take the next step to see if this pain I feel is real, I need to see a GI and have a colonoscopy. At this time, that is not an option.

So what do I do? How do others get a prescription for Pain medication? I feel totally disrespected. Like my feelings arent important. That I dont know what I need. I will be eligible for a better type of insurance in 3 months. In the mean time, I am suffering from a lot of pain.

How can I just get a doctor to help me? I need a prescription for the time being. I understand that they dont just hand out Pain killers to anyone. In this case however, I am a person that genuinely needs the help of pain medication. What can be done? I feel I am so alone and helpless in this situation.

P.S. with my current insurance I can only go to the hospital that I am currently using.

I just had a quick question involving MEPS? When I am getting a medical evaluation and tell them I recently had a colonoscopy and endoscopy for abdominal pains could that eliminate me from joining the military? I don’t see how it could because the doctors who conducted the colonoscopy said that it was nothing. I personally think it’s lactose intolerance or stress. But could that reduce my chances of joining?

I have been having major stomach issues mainly digestive issues. Constant indigestion, constant bloating, sometimes constipation- and i have been taking Colon Health for about a week now. How long does it take to regulate your digestive system?? Please help, i need some type of relief.

I have also seen 2 doctors and have gotten 2 different blood tests and a breath test to test for stomach infections so I might just have IBS- unless it could be my gall bladder.

I had kidney stones in feburary and it was terrible probably the most pain ive ever been in. Im 15 pretty fit, i have a high metabolism which basically gives me the freedoom ever since i can remmber to eat what ever i want and not get fat. The downside to that is i get hungrry every 30 minutes. I went to the doctors in march and they said i was doing fine i jsut needed to drink a 2 liter bottle of water everyday. And i havent been, ive been drinnking soda.They also said in march they saw a shadow of a forming crystal on my right kidney i was concerned because they said i needed to maintain good hydration in order for it not to form. I havent been. Its now july and im feeling pain in my kidney area not extreme pain but a slight noticible sting every now and then. Can u help me with maybe giving me ways to keep hydrated, wha fod to eat, what vitamins to take and what not to do? Thanks comments apprecitated

Every other drug is out of your system in days. It doesn’t catch alcoholics so the whole drug testing industry is based on busting pot smokers who are not dangerous, show if anything an extra attention to detail and creativity attributes you would think a company would want. I agree heavy machinery, doctors, bus drivers should be tested but what if you are applying for a job in customer service, housekeeping or cook. Studies have proven that those work places that test are no safer statistically than those that don’t so why do we continue this insanity.

I have trouble with energy lately. I wake up and I’m still tired. Although, doctors that I have seen said the same thing; nothing is wrong. I want to know if Doctors wait for an ethically better time to tell you that you have cancer. Do doctors hold off telling you, you have cancer till a later time…or do they tell you right after the procedure..ie. colonoscopy, lower gi.

say you have all the symptoms of gall bladder problems; abdominal pain under rib cage, shoulder pain, bloating, feeling super full after eating, pain after eating especially fatty foods, etc. but the sonogram comes back negative. would the doctors still remove your gall bladder because of all the horrific pain?

I have a bad pain in my right ribs, i figure this is my gall bladder and it is due to me eating nothing but high fat food over the last month during the festive season.

It really hurts but not deadly pain. I DON’T want to go to the Doctors and think it will pass if i lay off the junk for a few days.

What do you think? Do you think i will be ok to wait for 24 hours and see how i go? I read that you can make a veggie soup / juice to help.
