I have gallstones, and I will be setting a date with a surgeon soon to have my gall bladder removed. Can anyone tell me about the surgery? how long it will take to heal? how long should I have to take off work? Will it hurt much? Thanks so much

I have been sick all week and I am 95% sure that my gallstones have finally gotten too bad to deal with. I just get nervous because I have a 9month old and I have never been away from her….thats why I’m asking. Thanks

4 years ago at the age of 19 I had my gall bladder removed because I had tons of gallstones covering it. It was done through 4 small holes on my stomach.
For the last week I’ve been experiencing pain in the gall bladder area again. Similar (but not nearly as strong) to a gall bladder attack that I would get when I had gallstones.
My question is can gall bladders grow back after they’ve been removed? Any idea what could cause this pain all of a sudden after having it moved such a long time ago?
Thanks!

I want to do a liver cleanse / detox (the one with epsom salt, then olive oil, apple juice every 2 hours etc), but had my gallbladder removed. Is this something I can still do without a gallbladder? It sounds like this process helps get rid of gallstones, but I thought there were only gallstones in the gallbladder, not in the liver too? please advise nurses or doctors!
thanks
alice – nothing about livers on the site.

I have been having gall bladder attacks i have had 7 in 2 and a half months.I recently went to the emergency room and they told me I had multiple gallstones and i needed to have it removed.Well since my visit last week i have never stopped having pain my abdomen is very tender and i cant lift or even walk with out pain.Plus I have a slight fever.Could this be sign of infection.I am planning on going in for the surgrey.Has anyone had this surgrey and do you know what happens during it,what recoup time is or just any information good or bad on this I would really appreciate it.Thank you so much

I did the Liver Cleanse (the one that involves Apple Juice, Epsom Salts, Olive oil and Grapefruit) a week ago, and it was amazing! But I’m having a cholesterol test on Monday morning and was wondering if I’ve got enough time to do another test before then, and whether I should do it on Friday or on Saturday night. How long do you think it would take for the next load of Gallstones to be fully excreted and the cholesterol in the blood to be affected by this second cleanse. Any ideas?
Actually, that was not a very helpful response. I’ve read the primary sources (I have a PhD so I do that kind of thing
and know of examples where gallbladder surgery was cancelled because of the success of this non-invasive this treatment. I short, it does work, but appears to be case-dependent. So thanks for the sceptical weblink, but does anyone have a definitive chronology that answers the question? Cheers.

I was recently diagnosed with a large amount of gallbladderstones. And my GP suggested I remove my gallbladder. I’ve been searching online for alternative ways of dealing with the problem, without undergoing surgery. I’ve realized through my research that there are several different methods of doing something called a liver flush that might cure the problem with my gallstones. But I’m naturally quite concerned about doing this on my own. I would prefer doing it under the supervision of somebody that actually knows what he/she is doing. Does anybody here on Y.A. know of any good supervisors helping out with liver cleansing in the UK ?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Is it safe to do a liver cleanse if my gallbladder has already been taken out? I lost a great deal of weight a while back and developed gallstones, so my gallbladder was removed.
It seems that liver and gall cleanses are tightly related. So is it safe to do a liver cleanse without a gallbladder? Any in particular someone would recommend?

What is the difference between kidney stone and gallstone? What is the difference in treatment? What are the options for treatment other than surgery? Can we drink water to flush out gallstones?
