I had a colonoscopy done 3 months ago. I came out fine, but am just wondering if any form of inflammatory bowel disease can be detected that way. Such as ulcerative colitis (i know i spelled it wrong) or Crohns or any other form of it. And if I had it, could some of it’s effects be detected in my blood or urine some how since I had both of those checked this week?

I am reading a book called "The Makers Diet" I want to know if anyone has heard of it. I have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I want to take the holistic approach. These antibiotics kill the good and bad bacteria. Is it absolutely necessary to eat Organic Fruit and Vegtables?

I have both Chrons and Colitis, and I’m finding it oddly hard to lose any weight while being on my medications (not on steroids though)

Well , i was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis around 10 years ago , i never bothered with taking my medcation until now & i dont have insurance on myself . every month it’s 400 dollars to get my prescription refilled and i can’t afford it . Is there a website to contact someone or is there a website for cheaper medications?

So I started having blood and music in my stools, and the doctor ordered me to have a sigmoidoscopy. I was done yesterday, and they found that I have ulcerative colitis. I’m 19, and have never really had any health problems before this.

I have to take 6 pills a day for two months. Is this curable in some cases? Can stress cause it? If it’s not curable, you one live a normal, long, healthy life with this?

Now that I’m starting to put weight back and have more energy, I have noticed that all my strength is gone and i can barely do push ups,I wasn’t weak before since i was diagnosed halfway through boot camp. Was it worth it? I’ve had ulcerative colitis for almost 5 years and the flare ups are really starting to bother me. Sometimes they last for weeks and I usually end up having to go to the bathroom for more than 5-10 times a day. So I was sort of thinking about maybe having my colon removed.

Was your life better after you had your colon removed?

i thought i was getting better. i was diagnosed anemic and such and the next day i was hospitalized but since then my bleeding from the ulcerative colitis has significantly gone down but today i slept all in the car and i slept all last night, had a decent breakfast but when i walked in the store just for not even 5 minutes to get something i felt SO weak. is this normal?

I usually take Amoxicillin/Penicillin but I have an infection that seems to be resistant to it. In this case Clindamycin is indicated. However I have Ulcerative Colitis (IBD – not ibs) and I am wondering if it is okay to take this antibiotic with this disease.

The infection is a bone infection and no other antibiotics other than the cillins or Clindamycin are usually effective.
