I guess what Im trying to figure out is if the hydrotherapy colonic (done by a professional) will rid the body of impacted fecal matter? In the same manner that a self administered colon cleanser would? Do they give the same results?

It depends on what type of colon cleanser you’re referring to. If you mean an enema, it will typically be about the same in a hospital or at home… it’s just usually easier if someone else does it on you (moreso if they know what they’re doing) than trying to do it on yourself (especially if you haven’t done it before). Also, in a doctor’s office, they typically would be able to tell you exactly what to do, how to position yourself, if you need to relax more, etc.
Prior to all of that, try about 1-2 tblsp of mineral oil (that you can buy in any Walgreens, or CVS ) at night before you go to sleep. That should start any impacted fecal matter moving.
Our body does an amazing job of eliminating toxins all by itself. It is only when the body becomes overwhelmed with a large quantity of toxins, or an especially potent toxin, that it is unable to perform the various functions of elimination.
While laxative herbs such as cascara sagrada and senna are widely available for home use, it is more important that the large intestine is able to perform on its own. There are many herbs that heal the walls of the intestine such as aloe and marshmallow. Other herbs are vital in restoring the necessary ‘Large Intestine Qi’ so that the bowels have the energy necessary for peristalsis such as bitter orange. There are actually a multitude of strategies that can help restore proper bowel movements. The Chinese often include oily herbs such as black sesame seed, and blood building herbs such as mulberry fruit, for dry bowel movements.
the colonic (hydrotherapy process) is with a trained hydrotherapist there for any mishaps should something occur. the colonic process is constantly, continous running operator temperature guided water. This process can go on until the water runs out of the tank.
colon cleanser @ home is usually herbs for purging the colon system of impacted fecal matter and will work when the herbs are absorbed by the body.
now one can give themselves a colonic @ home. the saline solutions found in handy bottles (i.e. Fleet) and see the results @ that moment. Or one can invest in a Water Bag and put the desired contents, water, glycerin, herbal tea mixture, etc and give themselves single doses of the solution to work. >edit< now if one wants to have the running water like the hydrotherapist office go to and adult web sex site that have the rectum cleaner hose apparateous. i.e. buygay.com
Neither is better, considering the price one has to pay for a hydrotherapist session (south La. $60 a session). I have done both and to augment my hydrotherapist visits I have done a home colonic before going and getting a thorough, cleaning feeling from the professional.
